Book Ideas?

We are doing MUCH better at our house! I'm so glad my Alex is back and that demon child has moved on. :) I ended up taking Alex back to the doctor on Saturday as I was afraid the antibiotics weren't working. Turns out they were - his ear was clear - but he was also fighting some sort of virus.

My Buckeyes beat Michigan on Saturday - Oh Happy Day!!!

Does anyone have a suggestion for a good book? I want to get a book to take on vacation (as my parents will pretty much kidnap Alex and I actually might have some time to myself). I like just about anything. It can be adoption/parenting related, or just light fluff.

Help Me!!!

I usually go with light fluff but none of my fluff has been worthy of recommending lately. The last book I didn't roll my eyes at was Cross by James Patterson.

A friend of mine on the mission trip with me was just reading an incredible book that I just saw last night at Target. She HIGHLY recommended it... it is called "Three Cups of Tea" and there is a website to read more about it at www.threecupsoftea.com to decide if you want to read it.

I personally love all the Nicholas Sparks books...

Have fun!

I really like Jodie Piccoult (her books tend to be thought provoking) and Nicholas Sparks (lighter). Have a wonderful vacations!!

I just finished "A Thousand Splendid Suns" and it is one of those books that you can't put down. Also, by the same author, "The Kite Runner". This man definitely has talent.

Also, "The Glass Castle", it's a true story and another one you can't put down.

Gosh, I'm such a book whore that my list could go on and on and on and on.

My mom just gave me "Three weeks with my Brother" a memoir by Nicholas Sparks & Micah Sparks. They travel to Guatemala as part of their global trip. Haven't had a chance to read it myself but she enjoyed it. I cried like a baby when I read "The Notebook". Also I always check out Oprah's book list for ideas. Her current book is 973 pages don't think I can handle that one right now.

YES - I am a FREAK for a good BOOK! Unless by Carol Shields is a book every woman should read, and anything by Alice Sebold - Lucky and the Lovely Bones - dark, but wonderful. I've read everything Nicholas Sparks has written and his memoir Three Weeks With My Brother is the best. The Glass Castle and Kite Runner I couldn't get through right now - too sad for some reason (I'm probably hormonal).
