Our church's Vacation Bible School is at the end of June. We would like to have the mission project that the kids work on that week be a focus on Guatemala.
Does anyone have any suggestions on any organizations that we could support? I know that most want money, but it's so much easier for the kids to bring "things." (for example, we did school supplies for the kids in New Orleans last summer)
I didn't know if any of you were familiar with any organizations that we can check out.

You could try mayanfamilies.org - if you e-mail Sharon, I am sure that she can tell you some things that they need. They are very grass roots, and I love reading about all of the projects that they do!
I agree with Krystal. Mayan families need school supplies also.
I had a couple more ideas -- you could check with Maria at AHH and see if they need anything for the July mission trip. Also, you could contact Children of the Americas (childrenoftheamericas.org, I think) and see what they need. I think they are usually in need a medical supplies and baby stuff. Since both of these are in KY, it may be easier for you to do something like this instead of trying to ship to Guatemala.
I was going to suggest Mayan Families. I gave all my baby stuff from fostering that my foster mother did not want to them. They are grateful for clothes, shoes, medicines (over the counter), diapers, baby items, etc. Sharon is wonderful to work with. They will pick up from any hotel in Guatemala City or Antigua, so if you know someone going and can bring some extra stuff, they will pick it up.
