It Hit Me Today

****EDITED****

John asked the question - and if he asked, other people may be wondering.

No, we don't have to give back our Alex. He's stuck with us forever. ;)

We have to give back our foster son, Alex. You can read about Baby Alex on our fostering blog (look to the left for the link). But, the quick story is Baby Alex is a 10 month old from Guatemala who came to the US for surgery on his cleft lip. He's been here since May 15th, and I leave this Thursday to take him back home to his mommy and daddy)

Sorry if there was any confusion!!

:)

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

I have to give him back.

I don't know if I can.

This sucks.

It's so easy to fall in love with the little ones, especially for people who give love so freely, like you. ((((KIM))))

I can't imagine how hard this will be --- I hope that when you see his momma and daddy, it will be a little easier.

Kim,

You have done a great thing...When you see his mom and dad & you know what a great job you have done for them it will be easier. It will be a little easier if you get it in your head that you did Foster. Trust me I know what you are going through as we went through it with Gracie Girl, But we had her for 4 months with the intentions of We were Adopting.
It does hurt like Heck but it does get easier, She has been gone for 3 months now and I still ask myself How do I go on without her, Then I look at the positives and you can do this, YOU ARE A STRONG PERSON, And not to mention HOW wonderful you are!!!

You have done something wonderful for Baby A. Like the others said, you will know the right thing when you see how happy his parents are. I am sure they are grateful as well, he would not have had a cleft repair without your assistance. Be strong!

You are an amazing and wonderful family for taking in this little baby "A" and watching him through his surgery. You both will be forever in his parents heart for giving the gift you did. His parents have angels forever here in the USA!

I kind of wondered when that realization was going to hit... I am praying for you all. It will be hard... but just knowing that he has been given such an incredible opportunity has to make your heart feel a little better.

You have to give back your adopted child? What happened?

Kelly said...

I dont blame you one bit for not being sure that you can do it...I am sure your heart is aching in a way that only you can understand. Love to you. Know that you've given this child a new life.
