What Alex Says at 4:30 am

Alex decided to wake up at 4:15 this morning. Mommy is tired and wants to go back to bed.

Although I'm not happy about being up, Alex said some new things this morning.

He's been counting to 4 lately, but that's as far as he has gotten. He was walking down the stairs this morning and started counting the stairs - 1 - 2 - 3 - 4 - I said 5 - and then he just continued - 6 - 7 - 8- 9- 10 - 11!! I didn't know he could count that high. I guess it's just the 5 that he gets stuck on.

We've also been working on colors. (not very successfully at this point yet) He has been working on red and green. This is because if we are stopped at a red light in the car, he yells "Move Cars!!!!" I've been trying to teach him to look at the stoplight and if it's red that means stop - and if it's green that means go. This morning, he pointed to one of my purses (that he has drug out of the closet to play with) and said, "Mommy green purse" (while he was signing green) I was very surprised as this is one of the few colors he has gotten correct.

He also asked to watch his Barbie video this morning. Unfortunately, our DVD player just died. I told him that we couldn't watch it because the DVD player was broken. He jumped down off of the couch and said, "I'll fix it, Mama!" What? Where did he learn that one???

He is amazing - but I wish he would amaze me at a more normal hour!!!

Uug! I would not have gotten up. Not for the sake of being a mean mommy, but my body will only allow me to be up and in motion at that time for extreme situations!

Sounds like Alex is a very smart young man!

Peace and Hugs,
Becca
