More Sadness

I'm sorry that my blog has been so down lately (and that I don't have new pictures of Alex).

Jay and I have made the decision that it's time to put our dog to sleep. The appointment is for 12:30 tomorrow. I can't stop crying!!

We got Buddy at Christmas of 1995 - he was 4 weeks old. He's now 11 1/2 and his Doggy Alzheimer's is just getting worse and worse. He's been such a great dog and I knew that this day would be coming, I just still can't believe it.
Jay and I had a really hard time when we had to put our other dog down last summer, and we had only had her for a couple of years. This is going to be unbearable. We've decided to have him cremated. We are now going to be on the look out for a good vessel for him.

I promise that the blog will get better soon.......I need to get the camera back out and get some new pictures of Alex. He has really grown up in the past couple of weeks. He's walking everywhere and starting to say a few words.

I'm sooooo sorry. Gosh, that is the worst thing to have to do. I still remember it too well. Know that he will be in peace now.

Kim I am so sorry. What a tough decision. We treat our dogs like children so I know how hard this will be for you. I am sure you will find a special place for his forever home.

Oh, Kim. I am so sorry. It is such a hard decision, but when you love your pet so much you don't want them to suffer. Our cat is 14 years old and I dread that day. He was our first "baby." To us, pets are like part of the family. They are not "just a pet" that you can replace. You know it is the humane thing to do though. We will be thinking of you and you know it is for the best. We are actually kinder to our pets than to people. They don't have to have prolonged suffering. Nevertheless, that doesn't make it any easier. You will always have him in your heart and you gave him a great life.
