I Think I'm a Bad Mom

Ok - so I've been looking at tons of blogs. Everyone is posting these wonderful Christmas pictures with their kids opening gifts and playing with their new toys.

And now...I feel like a bad mom.

We made the decision to not buy Alex anything for Christmas this year. He's only 7 months, we don't have any other kids, he's received a ton of things at the baby showers we had, and there really isn't anything he needs. I did end up wrapping up a couple of his favorite toys to see what he'd do, but he wasn't interested in opening any presents.

Am I a bad mom? He really didn't have a "first" Christmas. Oh well - I guess I'll just add this to the mommy guilt that I'll have to deal with for the rest of my life!! :)

I think we bought Gia only two or three gifts(bought with gift cards), the rest were things out of her closet:) I didn't want to give her alot because I knew her Aunts, Uncles and Gmom would take care of that.

We are going to start her college fund with the money that we saved on gifts. She will appreciate it much more when she is older.

YOU ARE NOT A BAD MOM!!!!

You are absolutely NOT a bad Mom!!! Ana's first birthday is coming up in a few days, and I have not bought her anything. I really don't know of anything she needs. You are a very SMART mom!!! ;)

Kim - Give yourself a break - you are not a bad mom. You should enjoy the fact that you didn't have to rush around to all the stores looking for "THE" toy of the year - and you won't have to add on to the house for a toy room - not yet anyway :)

Take care,
Marie

NO WAY, are you a bad mom. He is so young he probably wouldn't appreciate anything but the wrapping paper.

He already received the best Christmas gift when he got you as his Mom! No guilt necessary.

NOT AT ALL!! I think being together and having time with Mom and Dad were probably present enough!! When they are that little, they don't understand quite what's going on. Just wait... when he is two, he will begin to grasp presents and opening and all that!! It takes alot of energy, so save it up until he really knows what's going on!!

Alex has you and your love - that is all he needs right now - you are not a bad Mom - just a great Mom for being concerned about it!

You are not a bad mom at all. We took the same approach for Olivia's Christmas. Alex has everything he needs you

NO, NO, NO!!! You are not a bad mom. I don't think you should buy a bunch of stuff for a kid that really isn't old enough to give a care about it.

He's gonna remember this Christmas as well as he will remember his PKU test so please let us absolve you of that mommy guilt you are holding on to.

We hope you had a nice holiday!
