I'm Finished Shopping!!!!!

I made the decision to finish Christmas shopping today while Jay could watch Alex instead of dragging Alex out this week. I knew that I'd deal with more people, but thought it would easier without a 7 month old.

I was right!!

First - I have to say - that there is something wrong when I can do Christmas shopping one week before Christmas and it's 67 degrees outside! It was insane. Kids were lined up at our outdoor mall to take a "sleigh" ride with Santa - and I could have been in shorts.

I got everyone done - mom, brother, sis-in-law, and best friend's three kids. I already had my dad and our "adult" name exchange done. Now I just need to get everything wrapped.

Jay and I aren't exchanging presents this year. (although Jay asks me just about every day if that's still the case. I guess he's learned after being together for 16 years that he doesn't want to be empty handed if I got him something) We've also decided to take a couple of the toys that Alex hasn't played with along with the three toys we left at Michelle's (and that he's been without for about a week) and wrap them for Alex to open on Christmas day. He really doesn't need anything else from us this year, and I'm sure he'll get lots of toys from the family. He won't know any different, and my pocketbook likes it.

And, for the third year in a row - we bought all of our Christmas presents and didn't charge one single thing!!!! That's with me not having a paycheck for the past month. We recently paid off all of our credit cards and I want to keep it that way. (now the adoption loan - that's another question - but we'll get there soon)

First off-good job on finishing shopping. That's an accomplishment. But what is even better is the no charging. WOW!! Way to go.

Don't get me started on adoption loans.

Doesn't it feel great to be finished with your shopping and debt free. I love the snow, but not now.

GREAT JOB w/the shopping and the credit cards. The adoption loan, ugh, remember there'll be the adoption tax credit that will help.
