Boy - It's HOT!!

I think it's hot just about everywhere - but it's been a really hot weekend here. We've pretty much spent our time in the house this weekend.

Alex still is refusing milk from his sippy cup - even if it's chocolate. I've resorted to giving him one bottle a day so I can get some dairy in him.

We have now added please and shoes to our signing vocabulary. He's SO cute when he signs please. He tries to say the word at the same time. I'll try to get a picture of it.

I've been frantically trying to get laundry done before we leave this week - I still have LOTS to do. :)

Here are some pictures from this weekend.

Whenever Alex does something that he's excited about - he makes this next face.

Isn't this a great picture? The sun was coming into the family room and putting this really interesting glow on everything. Unfortunately, I didn't take this picture - Jay did - he's much better at taking pictures than I am.

Here's Alex and Jay watching horse racing. He got so excited when he saw all the horses on tv. When they started racing, he starting running around and pointing and getting all worked up. I think Jay is counting the days until I'll let him take Alex to the race track. ;)

Alex has also started playing peek-a-boo with his hands and "jumping." He cracks me up!!

Soooooo cute!!!! I showed Gabriella the video and as soon as she saw Alex put his hands over his eyes, she did the same thing. She's never done that before!!!!!!

I agree that he'll eventually get switched to the cup. Just keep trying. Have you tried just giving him the cup like you would a bottle just to see if he'll take it and get used to the spout? Have you tried a cup with a straw?

Olivia's not big on drinking milk either, so I just load her up on yogurt and cheese.

Savannah refuses to drink milk from a cup. We still have three bottles a day. To me, the nutrition is more important than the medium they drink it from and our pediatrician agreed. Savannah has some type of milk sensitivity where she gets a rash if she has too much milk, so she still has half stage 2 formula and half Lactaid milk.

We tried to give her a sippy cup of milk over the weekend and she screamed. Then she gets mad and won't even drink milk from a bottle for an hour. Not worth it. I know many people that have their baby on a bottle until they are 2, so don't stress about it.

Nuby makes a sippy cup with a spout that feels more like a nipple.

Good luck!

Kim,
Thanks for your comment! I would love to go on the Missions Trip next summer with AHH! I too will have to see how funds go, since I am taking some time off of work when Abbie comes home! I am also hoping that Abbie and I can make the trip to Kentucky next summer for the AHH reunion!

Take Care and try and keep cool! It's HOT in NC too!
