Gates Anyone??

Alex is officially mobile - not walking on his own - but with his walker!!

We desperately need to get some gates up around the house. There are just too many to choose from!!! I'm so confused.

Pressure mounted? Hardware mounted? Plastic? Wood? With a mommy/daddy gate? Does price matter?

We have three places we want to put a gate up right now. One in our hallway, one to separate the family room from the kitchen and one on the stairs.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Anything I should stay away from?

Yikes!!!

(and we are starting to feel better - I'm still pretty wiped out - but Alex is better)

We have the "Sure and Secure™ Extra Tall Walk-Thru Gate" by Summer Infant. I highly recommend it. It is extra tall and it closes automatically. I bought the "Hands-Free Gate" by The First Years for Gia's room and wish I would have bought the "Sure and Secure" again. I will definitely by another one when it is time to put one up in Max's room. Having it close automatically gives me some major peace of mind.

Well, sorry I don't have any gate advice. We have one right now, but it's for the dog;)

Glad to hear that Alex is feeling better and you are on the mend!

We have a wall mounted one that we got at Wal Mart for 15 bucks, we have at the stairs, I really like it

We did hardware mounted for the stairs (we have 14 of them and ceramic tile at the bottom) and it is made by Safety First and it specifically said stair gate. We have it at the top and bottom.

Then we have pressure mounted ones to keep her out of the dining room and a walk -thru hands-free one (there is a pedal to open it) between our mud room and kitchen, since it is a high traffic area.

They are working out well for us. We got them all at Babies R Us.

Good luck!
